“Asali (Swahili word for honey, honey that enlightens by bringing to light all that is in the dark.) This is the definition of the multi talented musician Melissa. Her music marries a fusion of Afro jazz and spoken word poetry. She is a voice of the voiceless – as manifested in her single “Red Roses” from the album “Baba Speaks”
Her poetry traverses the linguistic borders of both English and Swahili.”
